{"id":23573,"date":"2026-07-01T07:03:28","date_gmt":"2026-07-01T07:03:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aguli.in\/?p=23573"},"modified":"2026-07-01T07:05:21","modified_gmt":"2026-07-01T07:05:21","slug":"diarrhoea-outbreak-alleged-in-nonachhara-over-unsafe-drinking-water-residents-demand-immediate-health-intervention","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aguli.in\/index.php\/2026\/07\/01\/diarrhoea-outbreak-alleged-in-nonachhara-over-unsafe-drinking-water-residents-demand-immediate-health-intervention\/","title":{"rendered":"Diarrhoea Outbreak Alleged in Nonachhara Over Unsafe Drinking Water; Residents Demand Immediate Health Intervention"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Tripura, 01 July 2026:<\/strong>\u00a0 Residents of the remote Nonachhara area under the Krishnapur Assembly Constituency in Khowai district have alleged that a diarrhoea outbreak has spread due to the prolonged lack of safe drinking water.<br><br>According to local residents, inadequate access to clean drinking water has forced families to rely on untreated water sources, resulting in several people reportedly suffering from waterborne illnesses.<br><br>Those said to be affected include 60-year-old Santosh Kumar Molsom, 5\u00bd-year-old Aldria Molsom, 12-year-old Misanti Molsom, 45-year-old Sandami Molsom, and 26-year-old Poltu Molsom. Residents also claim that several other villagers are experiencing symptoms of diarrhoea.<br><br>The situation has become more difficult for many low-income families, who say they cannot afford proper medical treatment. As a result, several patients are reportedly recovering at home without adequate healthcare.<br><br>Adding to the concern, locals allege that the Nonachhara Health Sub-Centre has remained closed for a long time. Although the building exists, no medical services are available, forcing residents to travel to Teliamura Sub-Divisional Hospital even for basic treatment.<br><br>Residents have questioned why a health facility established for the welfare of people in the remote hill area remains non-functional, leaving them without access to essential healthcare during emergencies.<br><br>They have urged the Health Department to immediately send a medical team to the affected area, provide treatment to patients, ensure the supply of safe drinking water, distribute medicines and ORS packets, and reopen the Nonachhara Health Sub-Centre at the earliest.<br><br>As of now, no official response has been issued by the Health Department or the district administration regarding the allegations.
