One witness, who runs a lemon juice stall opposite the scene, said he saw a man chasing another person while carrying a dao (a large machete-like blade). The attacker allegedly caught up with the victim and struck him two to three times, causing him to collapse on the road. Local people immediately rushed to the spot, overpowered the alleged attacker, and took away the weapon.<br><br>The witness said the incident had taken place around 15\u201320 minutes before police were informed. He identified the location as Orient Chowmuhani, near the entrance to Shakuntala Road.<br><br>Another eyewitness claimed that one of the individuals involved works as a bicycle mechanic at a nearby shop, while the other person was unfamiliar to him. According to his account, the bicycle mechanic had gone to collect water when an argument reportedly broke out. He alleged that the mechanic was attacked from behind with the sharp weapon, and that there was also a retaliatory assault during the altercation.<br><br>After receiving information, personnel from West Agartala Police Station and Fire &amp; Emergency Services reached the spot, rescued the injured, and shifted them to a hospital for treatment.
