{"id":22655,"date":"2026-06-05T16:41:24","date_gmt":"2026-06-05T16:41:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aguli.in\/?p=22655"},"modified":"2026-06-05T17:02:22","modified_gmt":"2026-06-05T17:02:22","slug":"tyger-collective-plants-20-medicinal-saplings-at-imd-agartala-on-world-environment-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aguli.in\/index.php\/2026\/06\/05\/tyger-collective-plants-20-medicinal-saplings-at-imd-agartala-on-world-environment-day\/","title":{"rendered":"TYGER Collective Plants 20 Medicinal Saplings at IMD Agartala on World Environment Day"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Agartala, June 5, 2026:<\/strong> Marking World Environment Day 2026, the TYGER Collective (Tripura Youth Green Ecology and Restoration), in collaboration with the Youth Climate Impact Community (YCIC), Tripura Chapter, organized a medicinal plantation drive at the India Meteorological Department (IMD) campus in Agartala on Thursday.<br><br>As part of the initiative, 20 medicinal plant saplings were planted within the IMD premises to promote ecological restoration, biodiversity conservation, and environmental awareness. The saplings, provided free of cost by the HI-TECH Nursery, Salbagan, included Arjun, Amla, Haritaki, Neem, and Bahera. Dr. Sarat Kumar Das, State Project Officer, Disaster Management, Revenue Department, Government of Tripura, also participated in the event.<br><br>During the programme, officials appreciated the efforts of the TYGER Collective and expressed interest in future collaborations aimed at strengthening environmental stewardship and community participation in conservation activities. Dr. Sarat Kumar Das also invited the organization to undertake plantation activities within Disaster Management premises.<br><br>The plantation drive was carried out by TYGER Collective members Ishika Chakma, Sudhamoy Debbarma, Anupam Sharma, Dragila Molsoi, and Thomas Malsom.<br><br>The organization thanked Dr. Partha Roy and the IMD Agartala team for their support and cooperation in successfully conducting the programme. Special appreciation was also extended to Dr. Romita Reang for her assistance with transportation and refreshments.<br><br>The initiative was organized in line with the World Environment Day 2026 theme, &#8220;Inspired by Nature. For Climate.
