Tripura, June 3<\/strong>: A shocking case of an alleged abduction and possible human trafficking of a 17-year-old girl has surfaced from Tripura’s Khowai district, with the victim’s family accusing a neighbour of luring her away and taking her towards Goa.

The incident was reported from Gopitila village under Sipahijala Hawor area in Khowai district. According to the victim’s family, the minor girl went missing from her home around ten days ago. Despite extensive searches by relatives and local residents, no trace of her could be found.

Following her disappearance, the family lodged a missing person complaint at the Khowai Women’s Police Station. Since then, the girl’s mother has reportedly been visiting the police station daily, pleading for help and anxiously awaiting any information about her daughter’s whereabouts.

The case took a dramatic turn when the family allegedly received information that the girl was being taken to Goa by train. According to the mother, photographs recently surfaced on social media showing her daughter travelling on a train alongside a local man identified as Torun Tati and his son, both residents of the same locality.

The family claims that Torun Tati and his son also disappeared from the village around the same time the girl went missing, raising serious suspicions. After seeing the photographs, the girl’s mother rushed to the Women’s Police Station and filed a written complaint accusing the neighbour and his son of enticing and taking away her minor daughter.

Speaking to the media, the distraught mother alleged that her daughter had been lured away by Torun Tati and expressed fears that she may be a victim of human trafficking. She said that although police have initiated an investigation, her daughter has not yet been located.
