The operation was carried out at the Srirampur naka point under Kamalpur Subdivision following a secret tip-off.<br><br>According to police sources, the vehicle was travelling from the Khowai side towards Kamalpur when officers intercepted and searched it. During the search, police recovered a total of 152 packets of cannabis weighing approximately 85 kg and 500 grams. In addition, two Assam registration number plates were also found inside the vehicle.<br><br>Police detained the vehicle along with the driver and launched an investigation to determine the source of the consignment and identify others involved in the alleged trafficking network.<br><br>Speaking to the media, Sub-Inspector Debabrata Dutta said that around 9:05 PM, he received specific intelligence regarding a suspicious Mahindra vehicle heading towards Kamalpur from Khowai. The police team immediately informed senior officials, including the SDPO, and after completing official procedures, conducted naka checking at Srirampur.<br><br>During the operation, officers identified and detained the suspected vehicle. SI Dutta stated that both the vehicle number and the driver\u2019s identity matched the information received by police. Upon searching the vehicle, officers recovered 152 packets of cannabis weighing 85.500 kg in total.<br><br>Police also seized a mobile phone, a driving licence, and an additional Assam registration number plate from the vehicle.
