More than 600 bottles of illegal Eskuf cough syrup, valued at over \u20b96 lakh in the black market, were seized from a suspicious vehicle in the Maharanipur area, raising serious concerns about the existence of a larger narcotics syndicate operating in the region.<br><br>According to police sources, officers were conducting routine night patrols in Maharanipur when they spotted a suspicious Eeco vehicle bearing registration number TR01BV0637 parked along the roadside. Sensing the presence of the police, the driver reportedly fled the scene immediately, abandoning the vehicle.<br><br>During a subsequent search of the vehicle, police recovered several sacks filled with over 600 bottles of illegal Eskuf cough syrup. The huge quantity of contraband left even the investigating officers stunned.<br><br>The seized narcotic substances along with the vehicle were taken to Teliamura Police Station. Police identified the owner of the vehicle as Nayan Ray. Officials stated that the estimated black-market value of the seized Eskuf bottles exceeds \u20b96 lakh.<br><br>In a shocking revelation, police sources confirmed that the same vehicle had already been intercepted on May 17 in the Gamaibari area with a large quantity of illegal foreign liquor. The repeated involvement of the same vehicle in criminal activities has now triggered questions about whether a well-organized drug network has been operating unchecked for a long time.<br><br>Reliable sources further claimed that a youth from Gaurangatila under Teliamura subdivision and another youth from Agartala may have direct links to the racket, intensifying suspicions of an inter-district narcotics syndicate.<br><br>Police have launched an investigation and are trying to trace the absconding driver.
