Following a missing diary filed by the family, police launched an investigation and later learned that a body had been recovered from the Manu River in Kulaura area of Moulvibazar district in Bangladesh. Family members later identified the body through photographs as that of Nityananda Malakar.<br><br>In coordination with the Bangladesh Police, BGB, BSF, and administrative officials, the Bangladesh authorities handed over the body to Indian officials at Manu Customs Land on Thursday after completing all legal formalities.<br><br>Speaking to the media, Nityananda\u2019s brother Amrit Malakar alleged that his brother may have been called away from home by some individuals before he went missing. He demanded a fair investigation, justice, and compensation through legal means. He also claimed that statements given by some witnesses did not match what the family knew about the incident.<br><br>A police official said that a missing complaint regarding Nityananda Malakar of Durgapur was received on May 11. The following day, authorities were informed that a body had been recovered from a river under the jurisdiction of Kasba Police Station in Bangladesh.
