Tripura, 14 May 2026: A sense of excitement and curiosity spread across the Baligaon area near Kamalpur town after a suspected wartime shell was recovered from a stream. The object was reportedly found by local resident Madhu Deb while fishing in the water near Baligaon High School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to locals, Madhu Deb noticed a metallic object beneath the water and pulled it out, following which people from nearby areas gathered at the spot out of curiosity and concern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Elderly residents of the area believe the shell may date back to the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War, when the border region witnessed significant military activity. Although the object has rusted after remaining underwater for decades, its structure is still clearly visible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As news of the discovery spread, large numbers of people visited the site. Many described it as a historical reminder of the Liberation War era. However, it is still unclear whether the shell remains active or dangerous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
