Chennai, May 10:<\/strong> In a dramatic and historic turn in Tamil Nadu politics, actor-turned-politician Joseph Vijay, widely known as \u201cThalapathy\u201d Vijay, took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on Sunday at a grand ceremony held at Chennai\u2019s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar administered the oath of office and secrecy to Vijay along with nine ministers from the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK)-led alliance government. The event witnessed massive public enthusiasm as thousands of supporters, party workers, and fans gathered at the stadium chanting slogans in support of Vijay and TVK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vijay\u2019s rise to power is being seen as a landmark moment in the state\u2019s political history, as it breaks the decades-long dominance of the DMK and AIADMK in Tamil Nadu politics. Soon after taking oath, Vijay greeted supporters in his trademark style and even clicked selfies with enthusiastic party workers, drawing loud cheers from the crowd.
