Despite warnings, the accused allegedly continued his operations secretly.<br><br>At around 10 pm, a group of local women&#8211; often referred to as a \u2018<strong>Pramila Bahini\u2019&#8211;<\/strong> along with youths raided Das\u2019s residence, recovering a significant quantity of illicit liquor and detaining him on the spot.<br><br>Locals claim that around 12 individuals are involved in the illegal liquor trade in the area, with Uttam Das allegedly acting as the key operator. Some residents also alleged that the activity had been continuing for years.<br><br>Upon receiving information, <strong><em>Amtali police<\/em><\/strong> reached the spot, seized the recovered liquor, and took the accused into custody. A person found consuming alcohol at the location was also detained.<br><br>Residents, especially women, said such community-led actions have become necessary due to repeated disturbances caused by illegal liquor trade.
