Imphal, April 9: <\/strong>In a major crackdown launched in the aftermath of the Tronglaobi incident, security forces arrested three suspected cadres of the United Kuki National Army (UKNA) from nearby areas of Churachandpur district, Manipur Police said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The arrested persons have been identified as Jampao Kuki, Sasang, and Paulallem Vaiphai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to police, the operation led to the recovery of a significant cache of arms, ammunition, cash, and narcotic contraband. Seized from the arrested individuals were one AK-47 rifle with a magazine and 25 rounds of ammunition, one pistol with two magazines and 15 rounds, cash amounting to Rs 20,100, and two sacks of raw opium weighing a total of 21.19 kilograms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a separate operation carried out in the Molphei Tampak area of Churachandpur district, security forces recovered more weapons and explosive-related materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The items recovered from the area included one MP-9 automatic rifle, one pistol with a magazine, two Lethedo tubes, one Pumpi (a locally made cannon), and five 70 mm cartridges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police said the operations were part of intensified security measures launched following the Tronglaobi incident, as forces continue search and combing operations in vulnerable areas of the district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further investigation is underway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
