During the event, it was announced that a Skill Development and Training Centre would be established at Naruwai Tongthai Bhawan to train youth in hospitality and related sectors.

Addressing the media, Pradyot Kishore Debbarma said that the idea of establishing a hospitality management institute was conceived nearly 15 months ago with the goal of creating better career opportunities for the youth of Tripura.

He stated that renowned hotel brands under the Tata Group, such as Taj and Ginger, are well-known across India, and if the youth of Tripura aspire to work in such establishments, they need access to quality hospitality management training.

Debbarma added that he personally initiated discussions with the Tata Group regarding the project, and after more than a year of planning, the responsibility has now been entrusted to Tata STRIVE.

“Our primary objective is to ensure a brighter future for our youth both boys and girls as well as women. This institute will not only provide professional training but will also offer placement support for jobs,” he said.

He further announced that he would personally sponsor scholarships for 10 women and 10 youth to pursue training at the institute.

According to Debbarma, the institute in Khumulwng will help local youth compete for employment in hotels across major cities such as Bengaluru, Mumbai, Guwahati, and Delhi. He noted that a large percentage of employees in the hospitality sector across India come from other northeastern states, and Tripura’s youth deserve the same opportunities.

He also informed that the institute will work in collaboration with Tata STRIVE and the Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), whose certification programmes are globally recognized and will help trainees secure jobs more easily. The Tata Group has also assured placement support for successful candidates.

Responding to a query, Debbarma clarified that the historic name “Naruwai Tongthai” will remain unchanged, though the training institute will also carry the Tata STRIVE identity.

The facility will also include hostel accommodation for students coming from different areas, ensuring better learning and training conditions.

Among others present at the event were TTAADC Executive Members Bhavaranjan Reang and Kamal Koloi, MLA Pathanlal Jamatia, MDC Ganesh Debbarma, and MLA Philip Kumar Reang, along with other dignitaries.

TTAADC signs an MoU with Tata STRIVE at Naruwai Tongthai Bhawan in Khumulwng to establish a hospitality skill development and training centre aimed at improving employment opportunities for Tripura’s youth.

[73
6284,1323,6285,552,6286,6283,692,6287
1174
0":"post-19222","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-tripura","8":"tag-hospitality-management-institute-tripura","9":"tag-khumulwng","10":"tag-naruwai-tongthai-bhawan","11":"tag-pradyot-kishore-debbarma","12":"tag-skill-development-tripura","13":"tag-tata-strive","14":"tag-ttaadc","15":"tag-ttaadc-mou-tata-strive
https://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/564a074770eb17d36f3af441d462b8a2a809599748f74220740b1d3b52879fcf?s=96&d=https%3A%2F%2Faguli.in%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2024%2F07%2FPHOTO-2023-09-14-08-30-32-3.jpg&r=g","0":null,"1":"","2":"","3":"","4":"","5":"","6":"","7":"","8":"
["GET
