Tripura, 03 March 2026:<\/strong> Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu <\/strong>on Tuesday emphasized Tripura\u2019s strategic importance in safeguarding national security and regional integrity, stating that the state\u2019s geographical position makes it highly significant for the country\u2019s defense framework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing a gathering of ex-servicemen at Agartala Military Station, the Governor said that a section of Tripura\u2019s youth can make meaningful contributions to national security by joining the armed forces. In this regard, he urged former soldiers of the state to take on the role of mentors and guides for the younger generation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He noted that many young people in Tripura aspire to serve in the armed forces. By sharing real-life experiences and stories of service and sacrifice, ex-servicemen can inspire the youth to dedicate themselves to the service of the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Governor also highlighted the invaluable role played by \u201cVeer Naris\u201d (war widows), describing their contribution as unique and deeply respected. While soldiers guard the nation at the borders, he said, brave women manage responsibilities at home single-handedly, ensuring strength and stability for their families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reaffirming the government\u2019s commitment to the welfare of ex-servicemen and their families, the Governor said various schemes are being implemented to ensure their healthcare, financial security, and social well-being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lieutenant General Abhijit S. Pendharkar also addressed the gathering. The welcome speech was delivered by Brigadier Dheeraj Singh, VSM, Commander of the 73 Mountain Brigade. Among those present were Major General Shubhankar Basu, VSM, GOC of the 57 Mountain Division; Major General Indrajit Singh Bhindar, IG of Assam Rifles (East); Brigadier Nishant Chandel, Sector Commander of 21 Assam Rifles; and Bimbisar Bhattacharjee, Director of the Information and Cultural Affairs Department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
