Tripura, 03 March 2026<\/strong>: Emphasizing unity and inclusive progress, Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma called upon people from all communities Indigenous and non-Indigenous to work together for the overall development of the state on Yesterday. He said collective efforts are essential for the advancement of education, culture, language, and religious heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Minister was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the 79th Bankul Mahamuni Buddhist Fair held last night at the Bankul Buddha Temple premises in Sabroom subdivision. Referring to the teachings of Lord Buddha, he highlighted the importance of non-violence, brotherhood, friendship, and unity as guiding principles for building a progressive and harmonious society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bikash Debbarma described Bankul as an ideal tourist destination, attracting visitors and pilgrims from across the state, other parts of the country, and abroad. He urged everyone to maintain peace and discipline during the five-day-long fair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among others who addressed the inaugural programme were MLA Mailafru Mog. The welcome address was delivered by Sabroom Sub-Divisional Magistrate Suman Rakshit. MDC Kangjang Mog, Buddhist religious leaders Uma Cherad and Dr. Pannyadeep, along with other distinguished guests, were also present at the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The five-day fair will conclude on February 6. Ten departments of the State Government have set up exhibition stalls at the venue. The Information and Cultural Affairs Department is organizing cultural programmes every evening featuring artists from within the state and outside, adding vibrancy to the annual religious and cultural gathering.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
