Tripura, 2nd Feb 2026: <\/strong>Tripura Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha on Monday said that ensuring inclusive and balanced development across every corner of the state remains the top priority of the present government. He made these remarks while inaugurating four key development projects at Atharobhola under Killa Block in Gomati district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing a public gathering, the Chief Minister said Tripura is a peaceful, green and promising state of Northeast India, and the government is committed to bringing the benefits of development to all sections of society. He inaugurated a modern AstroTurf synthetic football mini stadium constructed at a cost of \u20b95.36 crore at Atharobhola. The stadium, he said, will open new avenues for the growth of local sporting talent and greatly benefit children and youth of the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emphasising the importance of education, Dr. Saha stated that development is impossible without education, and ensuring women\u2019s participation in education is one of the government\u2019s key priorities. He underlined that the overall development of tribal communities is essential for the true progress of both the state and the nation. Highlighting the need for safe and well-planned accommodation for students, he said the state government is constructing hostels in various schools to prevent negative impacts on students\u2019 academic lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of this initiative, two 50-seat girls\u2019 hostels have been constructed at Dasarath Deb Memorial English Medium Model School in Killa Block and Devta Mura High School (South Baramura VC), at a total cost of \u20b95.20 crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Referring to the past, the Chief Minister said tribal society had earlier been misled towards violence, leading to conflict and suffering. The present government, he said, has brought the state out of that phase and reconnected it with the mainstream of development. Speaking on healthcare, he stressed that a healthy society is the foundation of a developed society. With this objective, a modern 10-bed Primary Health Centre has been constructed at Nityabazar area under Killa Block at a cost of \u20b95.40 crore under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund. This facility will ensure quality healthcare services close to villagers, reducing the need to travel long distances for basic treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Saha said these initiatives prove that the government believes not only in making promises but also in delivering results. \u201cKilla is no longer just an area; it has become a shining example of development,\u201d he said, adding that a self-reliant and strong Tripura is being built on the three pillars of sports, education and health. He also highlighted the state government\u2019s initiatives for the promotion of Kirtan culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chief Minister welcomed the Union Budget presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that it is supportive of the overall welfare of tribal and marginalised communities and is guided by the principle of \u201cSabka Saath, Sabka Vikas\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He further informed that six new National Highways have been constructed in the state and significant improvements have been made in rail infrastructure. Several new projects and schemes were approved in a recent cabinet meeting. An additional holiday has been declared for Garia Puja, and proposals have been sent to the Central Government for setting up 15 more Eklavya Model Residential Schools in Tripura. He also noted that between 2019 and 2024, several eminent personalities from different tribal communities have been honoured with the Padma Shri. The Chief Minister reiterated that building a \u201cDeveloped Tripura\u201d by 2047 is the government\u2019s ultimate goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking on the occasion, Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha, Tripura has witnessed comprehensive development in education, health and sports infrastructure. He said the inauguration of the four projects would greatly benefit the local population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MLA Rampada Jamatia delivered the welcome address, while the programme was presided over by Killa BAC Chairman Bagan Hari Malsom. Employees of Killa Block presented a cheque of \u20b960,000 to the Chief Minister\u2019s Relief Fund. Sports Minister Tinku Roy, Secretary Dr. K. Shashikumar, Gomati district in-charge District Magistrate Subhash Acharya, Superintendent of Police Dr. K. Kiran Kumar, Hada Okra Bipra Kumar Jamatia, Manindra Mohan Jamatia and other dignitaries were present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chief Minister also inaugurated a friendly football match on the occasion. A colourful Kirtan performance was organised as part of the programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
