Khowai, Feb 02: Tripura Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma on Monday inaugurated the DNA Club at the Government English Medium Higher Secondary School in Khowai, marking a significant step toward promoting scientific learning and innovation among students.
The inauguration ceremony, held at around 2 pm, was attended by Khowai District Magistrate Rajat Pant, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Nirmal Kumar Jha, Tripura Biotechnology Joint Director Anjan Sengupta, Biotechnology Officer Mahendra Singh, Khowai Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Aparna Singha Roy, Municipal Council Chairman Debashish Nath Sharma, school headmaster Ratan Debbarma, teachers, students, and other dignitaries.
Following the inauguration, the minister and other guests visited various science models prepared by students under the DNA Club. A major highlight of the event was a drone developed by Class XI students, who explained its design and practical applications to the visiting dignitaries.
Students also demonstrated blood group testing, accurately identifying the Forest Minister\u2019s blood group within minutes. Impressed by their skills, Minister Debbarma praised the students and remarked that one of them showed the potential to become a future laboratory technician or even a medical professional capable of serving institutions across India.
During interactions at the exhibition, an eighth-standard student explained her model entirely in English, drawing special appreciation from the minister, who lauded both the student and the school\u2019s teaching faculty for their academic standards.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Debbarma stated that 222 DNA Clubs have already been established across schools and colleges in Tripura, with plans to set up 50 more in the near future. He added that 20 additional DNA Clubs will be established in Khowai district alone.
The programme was fully coordinated and supervised by teacher Roxon Das. The event concluded with various school competitions, where prizes were distributed to winners by the guests.
Overall, the programme highlighted the growing academic, scientific, and co-curricular excellence of the Khowai Government English Medium Higher Secondary School, which continues to stand out among other institutions in the sub-division.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
