New Delhi, 02 Feb 2026: <\/strong>The Department of Posts under the Ministry of Communications has released the official notification for Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Online Engagement Schedule-I, January 2026. Eligible candidates are invited to apply for the posts of Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM), and Dak Sevak across various postal circles in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The online application process will be conducted through the official India Post GDS portal at indiapost.gov.in\/gdsonlineengagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Important Dates: India Post GDS Recruitment 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Candidates applying for the January 2026 engagement should take note of the following schedule:
\u2022 Online Registration: January 31, 2026 to February 14, 2026 (till 5:00 PM)
\u2022 Application Submission & Fee Payment: February 2, 2026 to February 16, 2026
\u2022 Edit\/Correction Window: February 18, 2026 to February 19, 2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vacancy Details and Salary Structure<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The recruitment covers three major categories. Selected candidates will receive Time Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA) as per the following slabs:
\u2022 Branch Postmaster (BPM): \u20b912,000 to \u20b929,380 per month
\u2022 ABPM \/ Dak Sevak: \u20b910,000 to \u20b924,470 per month<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eligibility Criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Educational Qualification:
Applicants must have passed the Secondary School Examination (Class 10) with passing marks in Mathematics and English from a recognized board.
\u2022 Candidates must have studied the local language of the concerned postal circle up to Class 10.
\u2022 Special provisions regarding local language requirements apply for candidates from Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, and Sikkim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Age Limit:
\u2022 Minimum age: 18 years
\u2022 Maximum age: 40 years
\u2022 Age relaxation is applicable as per government norms:
\u2022 SC\/ST: 5 years
\u2022 OBC: 3 years
\u2022 PwBD: 10 to 15 years<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other Requirements:
Applicants should possess basic computer knowledge, knowledge of cycling, and adequate means of livelihood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Selection Process<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There will be no written examination for GDS recruitment. Selection will be based on a system-generated merit list prepared from the marks obtained in the Class 10 examination, calculated up to four decimal places.
\u2022 For candidates with grades or points, marks will be calculated using a multiplication factor of 9.5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Application Fee: \u20b9100
\u2022 Fee Exemption: Female candidates, SC\/ST candidates, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), and Transwomen are exempted from paying the fee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) using a valid mobile number and email ID
\u2022 Log in using the registration number and fill in the application form
\u2022 Select division preferences and upload a recent photograph and signature
\u2022 Pay the application fee (if applicable) and submit the form before February 16, 2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
