{"id":17843,"date":"2026-01-27T10:37:51","date_gmt":"2026-01-27T10:37:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aguli.in\/?p=17843"},"modified":"2026-01-27T10:37:51","modified_gmt":"2026-01-27T10:37:51","slug":"rgu-to-host-38th-bci-national-all-india-inter-university-moot-court-competition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aguli.in\/index.php\/2026\/01\/27\/rgu-to-host-38th-bci-national-all-india-inter-university-moot-court-competition\/","title":{"rendered":"RGU to&nbsp;host 38th&nbsp;BCI National All India Inter-University Moot Court Competition"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"s8\"><strong>The&nbsp;prestigious&nbsp;BCI event is being held for the&nbsp;first&nbsp;time&nbsp;in Northeast India&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"s11\"><strong>GUWAHATI, January 27, 2026:<\/strong>&nbsp;One of the most prestigious and competitive moot court events in the country, the 38th&nbsp;Bar Council of India (BCI) National All India Inter-University Moot Court Competition 2026&nbsp;is being held for the first time in the North East India and this&nbsp;will be hosted by The Assam Royal Global University (RGU)&nbsp;from&nbsp;29th&nbsp;to 31st&nbsp;January 2026, bringing together law students from universities across India.&nbsp;The competition is being organised&nbsp;under the aegis of the Bar Council of India&nbsp;and the Bar Council of India Trust-Pearl First.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"s11\">This has been announced at a press meet organised by Royal Global University here today. The press meet was addressed by&nbsp;<a><\/a>Prof. A.&nbsp;K. Buragohain, Vice Chancellor, Royal Global University;&nbsp;Prof. Bhuban Chandra Barooah, Dean, Royal School of Law &amp; Administration (RSLA);&nbsp;Advocate&nbsp;Rakhee&nbsp;Sirauthia&nbsp;Chowdhury, Visiting Faculty, Royal School of Law &amp; Administration;&nbsp;Dr. D. N. Singh, Registrar (Academics), and&nbsp;Angira Mimani,&nbsp;Associate Dean, Student Affairs, RGU. It was moderated by Dr Rani Pathak Das, Public Relations Officer, RGU.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"s11\">Addressing the media,&nbsp;Prof. A.&nbsp;K. Buragohain&nbsp;said that the Bar Council of India National Moot Court Competition is regarded as a benchmark for legal education in India. It provides a national platform for budding lawyers to hone their skills in legal research, drafting, oral advocacy, and courtroom etiquette, while fostering excellence and professionalism in the legal fraternity.&nbsp;\u201cThe event at RGU will witness rigorous rounds of legal argumentation, research excellence, and advocacy skills in a simulated courtroom environment\u201d, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"s11\">Prof. Bhuban Chandra Barooah stated that&nbsp;the moot court rounds will be judged by an eminent panel comprising Hon\u2019ble Judges, Senior Advocates of the&nbsp;Gauhati&nbsp;High Court, leading advocates, and renowned academicians from premier law institutions, ensuring a high standard of evaluation and academic rigor.&nbsp;\u201cTill now, 65 teams from various parts of India have registered to participate in the competition.&nbsp;The Final Round will be graced by Hon\u2019ble Mr. Justice Kalyan Rai Surana, Judge,&nbsp;Gauhati&nbsp;High Court, Mr. Dilip Majumdar, Senior Advocate,&nbsp;Gauhati&nbsp;High Court, Dr.&nbsp;ShaiwalSatyarthi, Professor of Law, University of Delhi\u201d, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"s11\">Speaking to the media,&nbsp;Advocate&nbsp;Rakhee&nbsp;Sirauthia&nbsp;Chowdhury&nbsp;said that the Inauguration Ceremony will be held on 30th&nbsp;January&nbsp;and it&nbsp;will be&nbsp;graced&nbsp;by Hon\u2019ble Mr. Justice Dinesh Maheshwari, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India and Chairperson, Law Commission of India, as the Chief Guest.&nbsp;The ceremony will also feature an address by Mr. Apurba Kumar Sharma, Senior Advocate and Chairman, Executive Committee, Bar Council of India.&nbsp;\u201cWith Royal Global University hosting this landmark national event, Guwahati is poised to emerge as a significant hub for legal education and advocacy in the country\u201d, she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"s11\">The Valedictory Ceremony is scheduled for 31st&nbsp;January&nbsp;where the Chief Guest will be Hon\u2019ble Mr. Justice Ujjal Bhuyan, Judge, Supreme Court of India.&nbsp;The programme will also include addresses by Mr. Manan Kumar Mishra, Senior Advocate, Chairman, Bar Council of India and
