Science, Technology and Environment Minister Animesh Debbarma said this while inaugurating the 53rd State-Level National Children\u2019s Science Exhibition at Umakanta English Medium Academy on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\">Addressing the inaugural programme of the two-day exhibition held at the academy\u2019s open-air stage, the minister said that science fairs inspire students to develop their thinking abilities and encourage them to learn, explore, and discover new ideas. He informed that 40 science models prepared by students are being displayed at the exhibition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\">The minister said that the theme of this year\u2019s exhibition is \u201cStand for Viksit and Atmanirbhar Bharat\u201d, which aims at making India self-reliant in all aspects. He emphasised the need for self-reliance not only at the national level but also at the level of every family, including in the fields of science and technology. He added that among the participating students are future scientific talents, and efforts must be made to further motivate them towards science. He also urged students to take an active interest in tree plantation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\">The programme was also addressed by Ravel Hemendra Kumar, Special Secretary of the Education Department, and Professor T. P. Sharma, Coordinator of the NCERT National Children\u2019s Science Exhibition. The welcome address was delivered by L. Darlong, Director of NCERT Tripura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\">As part of the inaugural programme, students of Maharani Tulsibati Girls\u2019 School staged a science-themed play, which had earlier secured second place at the national-level role play competition under NPEP.
