Tripura, 13 Jan 2026:<\/strong> CEM Purna Chandra Jamatia inaugurated the newly established Kosom Tiyari Zonal Development Office of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) at Kosom Tiyari – Yesterday. The inauguration ceremony was held in the presence of EM Runiel Debbarma, MDC Shri Debajit Tripura, the General Chairman, Sub-Zonal Chairmen, Zonal Development (ZD) officials, Executive Engineer, other officers, staff members, and local residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing the gathering, CEM Purna Chandra Jamatia said that the Kosom Tiyari Zonal Development Office has been inaugurated to strengthen administrative outreach in the region. He informed that five sub-zones fall under this zonal office. Although no new building was constructed, the old structure was modified and managed to make the office functional for public service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He stated that the main objective of TTAADC is to bring administration closer to villages and directly to the people. Earlier, the office was located at BC Manu, which made it difficult for many residents to access ADC services despite the availability of administrative facilities. Many people were unaware of office procedures, ongoing works, and the services provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He further added that after coming to power in ADC in 2021 under the leadership of the Maharaja, their continuous effort has been to ensure that administrative institutions reach every household. The aim is to make these institutions more accessible, beneficial, and people-friendly so that citizens become aware of administrative functions and can avail themselves of government services easily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the issue of staff shortage in ADC offices, CEM Jamatia acknowledged that there is a serious shortage of employees due to a large number of vacancies. He said that the Finance Department of TTAADC has already communicated this matter to the State Government. Since ADC is nearly 40 years old, many employees retire every year, which has further reduced manpower. Despite operating with limited staff, the administration is trying its best to manage the workload and is actively thinking about ways to address the shortage in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Responding to complaints that some state-appointed employees posted in ADC areas are reluctant to work, he clarified that there is no such deliberate unwillingness. However, he pointed out that many officers are posted far away from their homes, and ADC areas are mostly remote and difficult to access. Poor road connectivity, lack of transport facilities, and tough terrain make commuting extremely challenging. As a result, employees face genuine hardships in attending their duties regularly, which sometimes creates such perceptions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
