Tripura, 05 Jan 2026: <\/strong>Tripura Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha on Sunday said that the present state government does not encourage politics in the implementation of development schemes and ensures equal access to food, clothing, and housing for all citizens, irrespective of political affiliation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chief Minister was addressing a programme at Sachindranagar in Jirania, where he laid the foundation stone for the tourism project titled \u201cDevelopment of Tripura\u2019s Heritage Village and Music Experience\u201d under the Swadesh Darshan 2.0 scheme of the Ministry of Tourism. He also performed the bhumi pujan and foundation-laying ceremony for a proposed entertainment park on the lines of Kolkata\u2019s Nicco Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Saha said the two projects would open a new chapter in Tripura\u2019s tourism sector and would serve as model initiatives for future generations. He expressed hope that these projects would significantly enhance Tripura\u2019s visibility on the global tourism map.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highlighting the role of the Central Government, the Chief Minister said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently shown a positive approach toward Tripura\u2019s development. He added that sustained cooperation from the Prime Minister has helped ensure the smooth implementation of various developmental projects in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Saha further stated that once the Heritage Village and Music Experience project becomes operational, local weavers and artisans will get a platform to promote and preserve their traditional crafts. Interaction with domestic and foreign tourists will further contribute to the growth of indigenous art forms. The project will offer visitors live demonstrations of traditional handicrafts, cultural performances, local cuisine, and exhibition-cum-sale centres for indigenous products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He noted that apart from boosting tourism, the project would generate employment opportunities for local residents and strengthen the economic foundation of the region. He added that Sachindranagar is expected to emerge as a notable destination on both the national and international tourism map.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, speaking on the occasion, said that around \u20b9106 crore will be spent on the two projects, which will be developed over 35 acres of land. He said the objective is to establish Tripura as a major centre of art and culture in the Northeast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Tourism Minister added that the projects aim to develop the capital city and its surrounding areas into a heritage hub, showcasing the diverse cultural traditions of the state\u2019s various indigenous communities. He urged all stakeholders to extend their cooperation for the successful implementation of the initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tourism Department Secretary U.K. Chakma delivered the welcome address, while Prashant Badal Negi, Director of the department, proposed the vote of thanks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme was presided over by Pritam Debnath, Chairman of Jirania Panchayat Samiti. Others present included Acting Sabhadhipati of West Tripura Zilla Parishad Biswajit Shil, Chairman of Jirania BAC Shobhamani Debbarma, Chairperson of Jirania Nagar Panchayat Ratan Kumar Das, and social workers Gouranga Bhowmik and Ranjit Roy Chowdhury, among others.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
