{"id":17198,"date":"2026-01-04T06:26:47","date_gmt":"2026-01-04T06:26:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aguli.in\/?p=17198"},"modified":"2026-01-04T06:26:47","modified_gmt":"2026-01-04T06:26:47","slug":"agartala-book-fair-records-strong-sales-cultural-events-mark-second-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aguli.in\/index.php\/2026\/01\/04\/agartala-book-fair-records-strong-sales-cultural-events-mark-second-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Agartala Book Fair Records Strong Sales; Cultural Events Mark Second Day"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>Tripura, 04 Jan 2025: <\/strong>The 44th Agartala Book Fair, which opened on 2nd January at the Hapania International Fair Ground, recorded book sales worth \u20b93,85,926 on its opening day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\">Today marked the second day of the fair, being held this year with the central theme \u201cVande Mataram.\u201d A wide range of literary and cultural programmes were organised, including a poets\u2019 meet, panel discussions, a quiz competition, theatre performances, and cultural events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\">At the Poets\u2019 Meet and Book Release Stage, a total of 58 poets from West Tripura, North Tripura, and Unakoti districts recited their self-composed poems in Bengali and Manipuri languages. The session was moderated by noted poet Nandita Bhattacharya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\">The same stage also hosted a discussion titled \u201cRupakalper Chokh: Poet Jibanananda Das and Writer Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay,\u201d featuring speakers Dr. Rajesh Bhattacharya, Dr. Pranab Kumar Das, and Dr. Manjuri Biswas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\">Additionally, an awareness discussion on child marriage and child protection was organised by the Tripura State Women\u2019s Commission. The session was attended by Jayanti Debbarma, Chairperson of the Tripura State Women\u2019s Commission and the Tripura State Commission for Protection of Child Rights. With the support of the Women\u2019s Commission, students of ICFAI University staged a play on cyber crime, which was well received by the audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\">In the evening, a colourful cultural programme was held at the Bankimchandra Chattopadhyay Stage. Artists from Gomati district presented various cultural performances, while tribal artists showcased Mamita dance, solo songs, and Sarindra instrumental music. The programme also featured instrumental music, solo and group songs, and group dance performances.
