Agartala: Dec 12. The North district has been allocated Rs 17 crore under the Mukhyamantri Prani Sampad Bikash Yojna Scheme for the 2025-26 financial year, officials confirmed on Friday.
The North Tripura Animal Resources Development Department has taken major steps to support India\u2019s push for self-reliant rural livelihoods. As part of this effort, a district-level distribution programme was held at the Ichai Lalcherra Community Hall in Bagbassa, where beneficiaries received various livestock and inputs.
A total of 4,379 beneficiaries across the district have been included under the scheme. Twelve items including goats, ducks, poultry, pigs, and other essential materials were distributed to support animal-based micro-enterprises.
Deputy Director Dr. Lalnungthanga Rowte stated that Rs 17 crore has been sanctioned exclusively for North Tripura to implement the scheme effectively. He added that the benefits would also reach residents through the DVD scheme.
The distribution event was inaugurated by MLA Jadab Lal Debnath, alongside Zilla Sabhadhipati Aparna Nath, chairpersons of Kadamtala-Jubarajnagar-Kalachhara Panchayat Samitis, social worker Kajal Das, and officials of the Animal Resources Department.
Officials expressed confidence that the initiative will strengthen the rural economy and push communities closer to sustainable self-reliance.
