The promised construction has not even started, triggering fresh public anger.<br><br>Locals said officials of the PWD had assured them during the blockade on the Assam-Agartala National Highway that bridge work would begin within five days. But more than 60 days later, the site remains untouched. Contractor Rupak Debnath, assigned to build the bridge, reportedly brought materials to the spot but has not begun work.<br><br>Residents accuse both the department and the contractor of neglect, saying daily commuters including schoolchildren are facing serious inconvenience.
