Agartala, December 8, 2025: <\/strong>Khathansa Production, led by founder Sharmili Debbarma, organised its annual charity cultural programme \u201cKhathansa Beats 2025\u201d at Rabindra Bhawan, Agartala – Yesterday. The event, title-sponsored by Punjab National Bank, brought together artists, academics and community leaders in support of a philanthropic cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Executive Member of TTAADC, Suhel Debbarma, attended as Chief Guest, while Dr. Sunil Kalai, Head of the Department of Journalism & Mass Communication at Tripura University, was present as Guest of Honour. Special guests included Suresh Chakma, Medical Tourism Consultant; Khirode Debbarma, HOD of Kokborok at Holy Cross College; and Rituraj Krishna, Circle Head of Punjab National Bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing the gathering, EM Suhel Debbarma highlighted his longstanding association with Khathansa Production. He said the group has consistently worked across professions while maintaining a tradition of charity, particularly supporting patients at Agartala GBP Hospital. He noted the team\u2019s commitment to promoting indigenous music and culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Sunil Kalai, in his remarks, stressed the significance of collaboration and cultural unity. He said that when Sharmili approached him for partnership, he pledged lifelong support, emphasising the need for collective effort in community work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking on the organisation\u2019s artistic values, Khirode Debbarma praised Khathansa for upholding traditional aesthetics. He observed that, unlike many events where performers compromise traditional attire and presentation, Khathansa\u2019s dancers consistently showcase cultural authenticity, earning strong audience appreciation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Khathansa Production, which had suspended events during the COVID-19 pandemic, resumed its annual programme this year under Sharmili Debbarma\u2019s leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event also honoured emerging talents. Aishika Jamatia and Naisia Debbarma received the Younger Achievers Award, presented by Swarnakamal Jewellers. Miss Universe Tripura 2025 Khumjar Debbarma was felicitated for her achievements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Musical performances were a major attraction, featuring a live act by Indian Idol winner Sourabhee Debbarma, along with singers such as Arpan Jamatia. Traditional Khathansa dance performances added cultural depth to the evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
