SHABD, New Delhi | December 5:<\/strong> During Russian President Vladimir Putin\u2019s visit to India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gifted him a curated selection of items reflecting India\u2019s rich cultural heritage, craftsmanship and traditional excellence. Each gift was chosen to highlight India\u2019s artistic diversity and long-standing ties with Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the key gifts was Assam Black Tea<\/strong>, grown in the fertile plains of the Brahmaputra Valley. Known for its strong malty flavour and distinct aroma, this tea has earned a GI tag and represents India\u2019s globally celebrated tea culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Modi also presented a beautifully crafted Murshidabad Silver Tea Set<\/strong>, showcasing fine engraving techniques from West Bengal. The piece reflects India\u2019s artisanal legacy and the cultural significance of tea in both India and Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another symbolic gift was a handcrafted silver horse<\/strong> from Maharashtra, intricately detailed and representing strength, honour and the enduring partnership between the two nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the artistic items was an exquisite marble chess set from Agra<\/strong>, featuring traditional stone inlay work. The set highlights India\u2019s craftsmanship while also appealing to the strategic and cultural importance of the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Prime Minister further gifted Kashmiri saffron<\/strong>, renowned as \u2018Red Gold\u2019 for its colour, aroma and flavour. GI and ODOP certified, this saffron represents the hard work of Kashmiri farmers and India\u2019s agricultural heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most meaningful gift in the collection was a Russian translation of the Srimad Bhagavad Gita<\/strong>, the timeless scripture from the Mahabharata. The text, centred on duty, righteousness and spiritual wisdom, serves as a cultural bridge for Russian readers to engage with Indian philosophy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
