Agartala, Nov 20: Tripura Minister Animesh Debbarma criticised the unfriendly behaviour of several doctors in the state on Wednesday while attending a felicitation ceremony organised by the Tripura Biological Council Directorate at Sukanta Academy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Minister said that many doctors in Tripura \u201chardly speak to patients,\u201d adding that he had personally experienced indifferent treatment despite holding public office. He noted that prescriptions are often given without proper explanation, which had compelled him to seek medical treatment outside the state, particularly in Hyderabad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Debbarma contrasted this with his experiences in cities such as Chennai, Hyderabad and Mumbai, where doctors maintain a polite approach and clearly explain diagnoses. He emphasised that good healthcare requires not only medical expertise but also empathy, communication and respectful behaviour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also highlighted the strong potential of Tripura\u2019s students, saying many could become leading scientists and doctors in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the programme, several distinguished teachers of Tripura were felicitated for their contributions to education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
