Tripura, 17 Nov 2025:<\/strong> A fatal road accident occurred on National Highway 208 in the Saika Bari area under Kamalpur Police Station, where two vehicles collided head-on on a sharp bend. One driver of the oil tanker died on the spot; his identity is yet to be ascertained. The other driver, identified as Mostafa (32) from Darrang district, Assam, was critically injured and referred to Kulai Dhalai District Hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to co-driver Rafiqul Islam, at around 4 PM, a vegetable-laden truck bearing registration AS 28 AC 0890 was travelling from Assam towards Agartala. While negotiating a bend at Saika Bari, the truck collided head-on with a 12-wheeler oil tanker coming from the opposite direction, registered as NL 01K 2604. The impact crushed both vehicles. The co-driver survived the crash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fire service personnel managed to extricate the oil tanker driver with great difficulty and shifted him to Bimal Singh Memorial Hospital, where the attending doctors declared him dead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
