Agartala: Nov 14. The BJP candidate and former Assam Cadre IPS officer Anand Mishra has stormed ahead in Buxar, opening up a 12,000-vote lead after six rounds of counting a dramatic shift in a seat long seen as a Congress fortress.
According to the Election Commission data, Mishra has already bagged 62,642 votes (49.37%), putting him miles ahead of Congress\u2019s Munna Tiwari, who sits at 12,262 votes and is visibly struggling to defend his turf.
The ex-cop, who earlier worked briefly with Prashant Kishor\u2019s Jan Suraaj before joining the BJP, is now emerging as the constituency\u2019s most influential new face. Mishra\u2019s rapid ascent has reshaped the narrative in Buxar.
