This focus, he said, is helping students become not only degree holders but also skilled and self-reliant individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p3\">Speaking after inaugurating a 50-seater girls\u2019 hostel for the Government Degree College and DIET College at Kakraban, the Chief Minister said, \u201cEducation is the backbone of a nation. No society can truly progress without education. An educated society is a self-reliant one. Education is the bridge of knowledge that leads us from ignorance to enlightenment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"928\" src=\"https:\/\/aguli.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/img_6356.jpg\" class=\"wp-image-15525\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aguli.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/img_6356.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/aguli.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/img_6356-300x272.jpg 300w, https:\/\/aguli.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/img_6356-768x696.jpg 768w, https:\/\/aguli.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/img_6356-860x779.jpg 860w, https:\/\/aguli.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/img_6356-760x689.jpg 760w, https:\/\/aguli.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/img_6356-150x136.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p3\">He further said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently emphasized the need for quality and value-based education over mere bookish learning. Addressing students, the Chief Minister urged them to develop a sense of service to society from childhood, noting that education should aim to create complete human beings \u2014 socially responsible citizens with a spirit of service, not just exam passers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p3\">Dr. Saha proudly announced that UNESCO has recognized Tripura as a fully literate state, a matter of great pride for all. With a literacy rate exceeding 95%, Tripura now leads the northeastern region in education. He added that the government has initiated steps to establish three new colleges in Kakraban, Ambassa, and Karbook, benefitting students from surrounding areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p3\">The Chief Minister highlighted several key initiatives, including the Chief Minister\u2019s Special Scholarship Scheme for students with special needs, establishment of a Drone Centre, Dental College, and a new Medical College at the university level, and plans to set up a University of Health Sciences in the near future. \u201cOur goal is to ensure that every person in Tripura becomes educated, skilled, and socially aware,\u201d he said. \u201cWe aim to build a prosperous, addiction-free, and enlightened Tripura where education, culture, and moral values shine.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p3\">Dr. Saha also mentioned that Tripura is now the second highest in per capita income among Northeastern states, and has won several national awards from the Panchayat to the state level \u2014 reflecting the efficiency and good governance of the present administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p3\">Expressing hope for the future, he said that the new educational institutions and the hostel at Kakraban would expand educational opportunities and open new horizons for the youth of the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p3\">Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, in his address, said the state government is continuously expanding higher education facilities, enabling Tripura\u2019s youth to pursue higher studies within the state itself. Higher Education Minister Kishore Barman announced that a Government Women\u2019s College will be established at Nalchar from the next academic session and that a Women\u2019s University will also be set up in Agartala.
