New Delhi, November 4, 2025:<\/strong> In a landmark political development, leaders from across the North Eastern states of India came together in New Delhi on Tuesday to announce a new regional alliance \u201cOne North East\u201d aimed at forming a unified political entity representing the collective aspirations of the region\u2019s people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The joint declaration, signed by four prominent leaders, marks the first concerted step toward regional political consolidation in decades. The signatories include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conrad K. Sangma, Chief Minister of Meghalaya and National President of the National People\u2019s Party (NPP), Pradyot Bikram Manikya, Founder of the TIPRA Motha Party, Mmhonlumo Kikon, Former BJP National Spokesperson and Minister in the Government of Nagaland, Daniel Langthasa, Founder of the People\u2019s Party, Assam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe, leaders from different states of the North East, have come together today to make a collective and historic announcement the coming together of various voices of our region to form a united singular political entity that truly represents the aspirations of our people,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The leaders noted that while young political voices from the North East have long raised similar issues from different platforms, the absence of a unified front has weakened regional influence at the national level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next Steps: Committee to Define Structure<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The announcement also outlined the formation of a constituent committee tasked with drafting the framework for the new political entity. The committee will deliberate on its structure, objectives, and modalities to ensure inclusive representation of all North Eastern states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the signatories, the effort is guided by the belief that the people of the North East \u201cdeserve to be heard, respected, and represented through a strong, unified, and indigenous political voice at the national level.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
