Tripura, 2nd Nov 2025: <\/strong>\u201cCulture is our ornament. No one can live without culture. The mixed cultural heritage of our state is immensely rich, and we take pride in it,\u201d said Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha while inaugurating the 100th Weekly Sanskriti Haat organized by Bangla Sanskriti Baloy at Senpara under Old Agartala Block this evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said the state government, through the Information and Cultural Affairs Department, is working to revive the state\u2019s lost cultural traditions. \u201cOur young generation has immense talent in various streams of art and culture. Such weekly cultural haats play a vital role in nurturing and promoting these talents,\u201d the Chief Minister noted, adding that these events provide valuable platforms for emerging artists across Tripura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Saha praised Bangla Sanskriti Baloy for its noble initiative, describing it as an effort not just for today\u2019s generation but also for enriching future generations culturally. He also observed that the Sanskriti Haat has helped many rural women find alternative sources of income and move towards self-reliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced a fund of \u20b950.25 lakh for the infrastructural development of the Senpara Sanskriti Haat. The amount has been sanctioned by the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM), and the Old Agartala Block will implement the development work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During his address, Dr. Saha recalled Tripura\u2019s royal cultural heritage and the historical connections between the Manikya kings and Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore. He emphasized the importance of preserving culture through continuous practice and proper training. The Chief Minister also spoke about promoting tourism through cultural initiatives like the Sanskriti Haat and further improving its infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy, who also spoke at the event, highlighted women\u2019s empowerment and self-reliance through cultural engagement and congratulated the organizers. Other dignitaries present included MLA Ratan Chakraborty, Vice Chairman of the State Cultural Advisory Committee Subrata Chakraborty, West Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar, and TRLM CEO Tarit Kanti Chakma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event witnessed a large gathering of artists and culture enthusiasts from across Khayerpur constituency.
