They cleared all stages of the interview and document verification and were awaiting their appointment letters. However, after the change in government in 2018, the entire recruitment process was abruptly cancelled due to a policy change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p3\">Following the cancellation, the candidates approached the Tripura High Court but did not receive a favorable verdict. Subsequently, they filed an appeal before the Supreme Court, where the case continued for nearly nine years. Finally, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the candidates and directed the State Government to complete the appointment process within two months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p3\">One of the candidates told the media,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWe are the TGT candidates of the 2016 TSR recruitment. A total of 568 candidates were shortlisted \u2014 332 from within Tripura and 146 from outside the state. Our documentation and verification were completed back in 2017. We were waiting only for the appointment letters. But in 2018, after the change of government, the recruitment policy was changed and the process was cancelled.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>We approached the High Court but didn\u2019t get any positive response. Later, we appealed to the Supreme Court and after nine long years, we finally received justice. The Supreme Court directed the government to complete the recruitment within two months. That deadline expired on October 28, yet we haven\u2019t received our jobs. We met officials at the Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE) last week, but they didn\u2019t meet us in person. They took our names and numbers, promised to call within two days, but we never received any response. That\u2019s why we have gathered again today.
