Tripura, 29 Oct 2025: <\/strong>Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha today inaugurated the Wi-Fi connectivity facility in 11 government colleges of Tripura and officially launched the Mukhyamantri Yuba Samparka Yojana 2024\u201325 during a program held at the College of Fine Arts and Crafts on 28 October. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister urged students to sharpen their thinking and creativity while effectively using technology to explore new ideas and innovations. He emphasized that proper utilization of technology not only ensures personal success but also benefits society as a whole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Saha highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always emphasized integrating technology into education and every sector of development. As a result, India has made remarkable progress in agriculture, healthcare, and defense, and is steadily advancing toward becoming a developed nation by 2047.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Underlining Tripura\u2019s progress, the Chief Minister said that guided by the Prime Minister\u2019s vision, the state is emerging as one of the leading states in India\u2019s development map. Tripura currently ranks third in literacy nationwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also announced that under the Mukhyamantri Yuba Samparka Yojana, 20,000 students will receive smartphones worth \u20b910 crore in the 2025\u201326 fiscal year, and the scheme has been extended till 2026\u201327. The government is also taking steps to bring both urban and rural areas under internet connectivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With Wi-Fi now available in colleges, students will be able to access educational resources more easily. \u201cThose with greater knowledge will play a more significant role in nation-building,\u201d Dr. Saha added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finance and IT Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, speaking as a special guest, announced that the government will soon extend internet services to school libraries and connect all educational institutions with digital facilities. In the second phase, Wi-Fi and other digital amenities will be introduced in 30 colleges at a cost of \u20b912.32 crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Higher Education Minister Kishore Barman described the initiative as a new milestone in the state\u2019s higher education journey, opening new horizons for students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was also attended by IT Secretary Kiran Gitte, IT Director Jaya Ragul Ganeshan B., Director of Higher Education Animesh Debbarma, Principal of Sachin Debbarman Music College M.
