Tension escalated when bandh supporters entered the Shantirbazar market, forcing traders to close their shops. However, the traders protested, leading to a heated altercation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\">Soon after, a larger group of bandh supporters stormed the market. Police presence was minimal at that time. Local traders retaliated, resulting in a violent clash. During the chaos, bandh supporters set a vehicle on fire said local traders. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\">When the fire service arrived to douse the flames, their vehicle was vandalized. Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Samudra Debbarma sustained a head injury after being hit by a brick. Salema BDO Abhijit Choudhury, who arrived at the spot to assess the situation, was also attacked and suffered a head injury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\">A local businessman, Biplab Deb, sustained a severe eye injury after being struck by a stone.
