Tripura, 20 Oct 2025:<\/strong> A tragic turn of events has deepened the mystery surrounding the case of Jewel Debbarma, a Class IX student from Tripura studying at Hanuman Prasad Satyanarayan Poddar High School Inter College in Rambagh, Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jewel, who was earlier reported to have fallen seriously ill under mysterious circumstances, has passed away. His mortal remains arrived in Tripura yesterday, where his grieving family and relatives received the body amid heart-wrenching scenes. The atmosphere at Ampura Bazar in Khowai district was filled with sorrow as tears and cries echoed throughout the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, Ranjit Debbarma, MLA of the 24-Ramchandraghat constituency, had written to Tripura\u2019s Director General of Police (DGP), urging a thorough investigation into the mysterious illness through the Uttar Pradesh Police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his letter, the MLA mentioned that Jewel\u2019s father, Montu Debbarma, had informed him that his son was perfectly healthy and cheerful until October 13. However, on October 16, the school authorities suddenly informed the family that Jewel had become critically ill and was admitted to the ICU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sudden deterioration of the student\u2019s health within just three days and now his death has raised serious suspicion among the parents and locals. Although the school authorities had reportedly arranged flight tickets for the family, their unclear explanation about the incident has only deepened the doubts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MLA Ranjit Debbarma stated, \u201cSuch a severe illness within such a short period appears extremely mysterious. A detailed investigation through the concerned police authorities of Uttar Pradesh is essential to uncover the truth. The circumstances leading to the boy\u2019s death must be thoroughly examined.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A copy of the MLA\u2019s letter has also been sent to the Chief Minister of Tripura for higher-level monitoring of the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jewel Debbarma, a resident of Ampura Bazar in Khowai district, was a Class IX student at H.P.S.N.P. Inter College in Rambagh, under the Chunar Police Station area of Mirzapur district, Uttar Pradesh.
