Tripura, October 13, 2025: <\/strong>The College of Fisheries, Central Agricultural University (Imphal), actively participated in the live web telecast of the national launch of two major agricultural initiatives by the Hon\u2019ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi – the PM Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana and the Mission for Self-Reliance in Pulses. The launch event took place at the National Agricultural Science Complex (NASC), Pusa, New Delhi, and was streamed live across agricultural and allied institutions nationwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the College of Fisheries, the telecast was viewed by the Dean, faculty members, non-teaching staff, students, and local farmers at the ATIC Hall. A total of 136 participants attended, including 86 males and 50 females from various sections of the college and surrounding farming community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme began with an overview of the objectives and importance of these landmark schemes, which aim to enhance food security, increase farmers\u2019 income, and promote sustainable rural livelihoods as the nation enters the Rabi sowing season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing the nation, Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan reaffirmed the Government\u2019s commitment to farmer welfare and highlighted key initiatives such as the Kisan Credit Cards, Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), Fasal Bima Yojana, and enhanced Minimum Support Price (MSP) to promote inclusive agricultural growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated the Government of India\u2019s unwavering commitment to advancing agricultural development through innovation, sustainability, and self-reliance. He emphasized the importance of value addition and productivity enhancement to strengthen India\u2019s agri-food systems and rural economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Prime Minister also underlined the role of PM Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana in improving post-harvest management, storage, and market linkages to boost farmers\u2019 income. Additionally, he stressed the significance of the Mission for Self-Reliance in Pulses to achieve full domestic sufficiency in pulse production and reduce import dependence.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
