Agartala, October 8, 2025:<\/strong> The Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) has announced a revised fee structure that will come into effect from October 10, 2025, as per the decision taken in the Governing Body meeting held on June 25, 2025. TBSE President Dr. Dhananjoy Gon Chowdhury and Secretary Dr. Dulal Dey jointly briefed the media on the details of the changes and the upcoming examination schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the new notification, the Madhyamik (Class 10) examination fee has been increased from \u20b9120 to \u20b9300, while the Higher Secondary (Class 12) examination fee will now be \u20b9400, up from \u20b9150. The practical examination fee, which was earlier \u20b975 in total irrespective of the number of subjects, will now be charged \u20b975 per subject.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The centre fee has also been revised for centres directly supervised by the TBSE, it will be \u20b980, while for other centres beyond direct board control, the fee will be \u20b9100.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the review of answer scripts has been raised from \u20b9150 to \u20b9200 per paper, and self-inspection of answer scripts has increased from \u20b9250 to \u20b9500 per paper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThese six major revisions have been introduced while keeping all other charges unchanged,\u201d said TBSE President Dr. Dhananjoy Gon Chowdhury. \u201cThe last comprehensive revision was made in 2021, and given the rising operational costs, we had no choice but to adjust the fees. Despite the increase, Tripura\u2019s examination fees remain the lowest among all North Eastern states,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When asked whether students might face difficulties, Dr. Chowdhury said, \u201cThose from economically weaker backgrounds may feel some impact, but overall the hike is minimal compared to other states. The board\u2019s expenditure has increased manifold, leaving us with no alternative.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He further confirmed that the 2026 Madhyamik and Higher Secondary Examinations are expected to commence in the last week of February, similar to last year\u2019s schedule (starting February 24). The form fill-up process will begin from January 6, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TBSE Secretary Dr. Dulal Dey urged students not to be alarmed by the new structure, stating, \u201cEven after revision, our board conducts exams at the lowest fees in the entire Northeast. Only six items have been revised; all other fees remain unchanged. Students should stay focused on their studies the 2026 examinations will follow the old pattern, and there will be no change in question format or evaluation process this year.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
