The announcement was made at a press conference held at\u00a0<strong>Agartala Dairy, Indranagar<\/strong>, in the presence of the Chairman Ratan Gosh and other officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Chairman highlighted that the GST on dairy products has been&nbsp;<strong>completely waived<\/strong>, while GST on&nbsp;<strong>Gomati Ghee<\/strong>&nbsp;has been reduced from&nbsp;<strong>12% to 5%<\/strong>. He said this move will directly benefit thousands of farmers and consumers in Tripura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sharing the progress of Gomati Dairy, he informed:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Earlier the dairy processed\u00a0<strong>5,000 litres of milk per day<\/strong>, which has now expanded into a\u00a0<strong>40,000-litre plant<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At present, around\u00a0<strong>30,000 litres of milk<\/strong>\u00a0are marketed daily, while another\u00a0<strong>10,000 litres<\/strong>\u00a0are used to make paneer and ice cream.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The cooperative now works with over\u00a0<strong>6,200 farmers<\/strong>\u00a0(earlier 6,000) through\u00a0<strong>179 milk societies<\/strong>, and is targeting to cross\u00a0<strong>10,000 farmers by December 2025<\/strong>\u00a0with 45 new societies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Farmers are supplied cattle feed at\u00a0<strong>\u20b926 per kg<\/strong>, much lower than the market rate of \u20b936\u201338.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Gomati Dairy produces&nbsp;<strong>four varieties of milk, two varieties of curd, two types of paneer, eight ice cream varieties, bottled water, and as many as 73 types of sweets<\/strong>, along with snacks like coconut laddoo, sesame laddoo, nimki, jirabi, and shingara.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The dairy also supplies milk to&nbsp;<strong>GB Pant Hospital<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>IGM Hospital<\/strong>, while fat removed from milk is used to produce ghee for wider consumption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ahead of the festive season, Gomati Dairy will open&nbsp;<strong>parlours in 10 puja clubs<\/strong>&nbsp;and has introduced&nbsp;<strong>a new vehicle and 11 tomtoms<\/strong>&nbsp;to improve last-mile delivery. Its products are also available at&nbsp;<strong>15 ration shops across Tripura<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Chairman also announced revised consumer-friendly rates for ghee after the GST reduction:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>100 gm pack<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 from \u20b9120 to \u20b9110<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>200 gm pack<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 from \u20b9220 to \u20b9200<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>500 gm pack<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 from \u20b9450 to \u20b9420<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1 litre pack<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 from \u20b9900 to \u20b9840<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>15 litre tin<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 from \u20b913,000 to \u20b911,700<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The cooperative has received support from the&nbsp;<strong>Animal Resources Development Department (ARDD)<\/strong>, with an investment of about&nbsp;<strong>\u20b92 crore<\/strong>&nbsp;to strengthen its units at&nbsp;<strong>Bamutia Unit II, Indranagar, Kamalpur, Dharmanagar, and other centres<\/strong>&nbsp;through projects like Kata Trust, Tridha, and Uttarayan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanking the Prime Minister, the Chairman said,\u00a0\u201cThe exemption of GST on dairy products is a landmark decision that will help farmers, consumers, and the cooperative movement of Tripura.
