Agartala, Sept 18:<\/strong> Women\u2019s safety and well-being are among the key priorities of the present state government, said Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha while addressing the launch of the \u2018Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar\u201d campaign at Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) and GBP Hospital premises yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highlighting the importance of women\u2019s health, the Chief Minister said, \u201cThe mother is the first person in a family, and if she faces health problems, it affects the entire household. The aim of this campaign is to keep mothers, and women at large, healthy and disease-free. A healthy mother means a healthy family, and a healthy family builds a strong society.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He noted that many women suffer from undiagnosed illnesses, and through this campaign, they will be able to identify hidden health issues and receive timely treatment. \u201cToday marks a new beginning for maternal and public health in the country,\u201d Dr. Saha said, while wishing the campaign great success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following his interaction with the media, the Chief Minister, along with other dignitaries, visited stalls set up by the Health Department. Among those present were Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor and MLA Deepak Majumder, Chief Secretary J. K. Sinha, Secretary Abhishek Singh, CM\u2019s Secretary Dr. P. K. Chakraborty, Social Welfare & Social Education Department Secretary Tapas Roy, Health Department Director Dr. Tapan Majumder, and AGMC Medical Superintendent Dr. Shankar Chakraborty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the \u2018Sustha Nari, Sashakta Parivar\u2019 campaign nationally from Dhar district in Madhya Pradesh. As part of the drive, health camps are being organized across the country, along with activities under the 8th National Nutrition Month and benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana for pregnant women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The campaign, running from September 17 to October 2, will cover Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, Community Health Centres, district hospitals, and other government health institutions nationwide, offering a wide range of health services. More than 1 lakh health camps will be held during this period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Launching the campaign with the press of a button, Prime Minister Modi said it reflects the government\u2019s strong resolve to prioritize women\u2019s empowerment and health. \u201cThis campaign will play a vital role in keeping India\u2019s women healthy and strong. Its goal is the advancement and progress of every mother in the country,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
