He said the new GST measures are expected to add nearly \u20b920 lakh crore to the nation\u2019s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), thereby strengthening the economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Minister also pointed out that before 2014, the common man was caught in a complex web of multiple taxes, which created additional financial strain on households.
