Agartala, August 21:<\/strong> Several SSC GD candidates from Tripura have alleged harassment, extortion, and poor facilities while travelling to Mizoram for their physical tests, which began on August 20. Traditionally, the test centres for Tripura candidates were set up within the state, but this year they have been shifted to Mizoram, creating severe hardships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to candidate Rahul Debbarma, youths travelling from Tripura were forced to pay \u20b9350 at border check-posts despite showing their admit cards. \u201cOfficials told us we could not cross without paying. I had to wait the entire night, from 9 PM till next morning 10 AM, before I was allowed to go. Even then, the vehicle fare was doubled \u2013 from \u20b9600 to \u20b91,200\u20131,300,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon reaching Aizawl, the candidates faced further difficulties during the physical test. They claimed the running track was in extremely poor condition, with 2.5 km uphill and 2.5 km downhill stretches full of loose pebbles. Out of 100 candidates starting the run, only 14\u201315 were able to qualify. Some even slipped on the stones, suffering hand and leg injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The candidates pointed out that running tracks in other states are well-maintained, giving those aspirants an advantage. They have urged Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Youth Affairs Minister Tinku Roy, and Royal Scion and Tipra Motha chairman Pradyot Bikram Manikya Debbarma to intervene immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aspirants have demanded that physical tests be conducted inside Tripura in the future and that the government take up the matter with Mizoram authorities to ensure equal opportunity and safety for all candidates.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
