Agartala, 16 August 2025: <\/strong>Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha on Saturday said that voluntary blood donation is gradually turning into a mass movement in the state, with several clubs and social organizations coming forward to organize blood donation camps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAmong all forms of donations, saving the life of a critically ill patient through blood donation is the highest form of humanity. It brings a unique sense of fulfillment that is beyond comparison,\u201d said the Chief Minister while inaugurating a voluntary blood donation camp organized on the occasion of the foundation day of Arvind Sangh, Edinagar, Agartala, and the 152nd birth anniversary of Rishi Aurobindo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He emphasized that along with strengthening the storage capacity of blood banks in proportion to the population, it is also important to maintain the balance between demand and supply. At present, the state has 13 blood banks, both government and private, as well as a blood separation center, he informed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highlighting health benefits, the Chief Minister said that a healthy male can donate blood four times a year and a healthy female can donate three times. However, he noted that public awareness regarding blood donation is still lacking. He urged clubs and social organizations to organize awareness meetings to encourage more people to participate. Appreciating the social initiative of Arvind Sangh, he expressed hope that such activities will inspire others as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chief Minister also underlined the importance of tree plantation in public life during his address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking on the government\u2019s strict stance against drugs, Dr. Saha reiterated that Tripura is following a zero-tolerance policy. \u201cNo one involved in drug trade or consumption will be spared,\u201d he asserted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Referring to economic growth, he said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has become the world\u2019s fourth-largest economy, while Tripura\u2019s economy too is moving ahead rapidly. In terms of Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP), Tripura ranks second among the northeastern states. \u201cThe government believes in delivering results through action, not just words. Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas is our guiding mantra,\u201d he said. He also mentioned the successful implementation of the nationwide \u2018Har Ghar Tiranga\u2019 campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program was attended by MLA Mina Rani, along with members of Arvind Sangh including General Secretary Supriya and President Shyamal Kanti Dey. During the event, local student Chaitali Chowdhury, who secured joint fifth position in the Tripura Board\u2019s Madhyamik Examination, was felicitated.
