According to the child\u2019s mother, her husband mixed poison into a cold drink and fed it to the infant, leading to her death. She alleged that the jawan routinely subjected her to severe physical and mental abuse for not giving birth to a son. The family\u2019s residence is in Behala Bari area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The lifeless child\u2019s body was taken to the morgue at GBP Hospital. Upon receiving the news, the grieving mother rushed there in a state of shock, unaware of who had brought her daughter\u2019s body or which doctor had examined it. Locals later apprehended Rathindra Debbarma on the GBP Hospital premises, where public outrage quickly flared. Police intervened, escorting him under heavy security to the police station. The bereaved mother has demanded the death penalty for her husband.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quoting the Prime Minister\u2019s \u201cBeti Bachao, Beti Padhao\u201d slogan, locals expressed anger over the fact that a member of a disciplined force could commit such an act against his own child. \u201cWhat kind of society are we living in where protectors turn into destroyers?\u201d one resident questioned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eyewitness accounts include emotional statements from the victim\u2019s relatives. The child\u2019s maternal aunt said that after visiting her home in Behala Bari, she saw Rathindra taking the baby away. \u201cLater\u2026 she was gone,\u201d she said, breaking into tears. Another person alleged that Rathindra\u2019s \u201cillegal wife,\u201d identified as Mitali Debbarma, had been married multiple times before, and claimed there may be a larger conspiracy against the TSR jawan.
