{"id":12844,"date":"2025-08-06T15:36:59","date_gmt":"2025-08-06T15:36:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aguli.in\/?p=12844"},"modified":"2025-08-06T15:37:01","modified_gmt":"2025-08-06T15:37:01","slug":"cm-dr-manik-saha-orders-stern-action-after-teliamura-tragedy-sdm-suspended-probe-committee-formed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aguli.in\/index.php\/2025\/08\/06\/cm-dr-manik-saha-orders-stern-action-after-teliamura-tragedy-sdm-suspended-probe-committee-formed\/","title":{"rendered":"CM Dr. Manik Saha Orders Stern Action After Teliamura Tragedy: SDM Suspended, Probe Committee Formed"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Tripura, 6 August 2025:<\/strong> Following the tragic death of Mihir Lal Debnath, a truck driver who lost his life after being trapped in his vehicle for several hours in Teliamura, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday announced a series of firm actions aimed at ensuring accountability and justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a statement issued via social media, the Chief Minister confirmed that the State Government has taken immediate steps in response to the widespread outrage and administrative lapses exposed by the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Measures Announced by the Chief Minister:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A three-member inquiry committee has been constituted to investigate the incident, led by the Secretary of Revenue (Relief, Rehabilitation and Disaster Management).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Teliamura has been suspended with immediate effect.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A show-cause notice has been served to the District Magistrate and Collector of Khowai district for failing to ensure timely response and coordination.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Financial assistance of \u20b96 lakh has been sanctioned for the bereaved family \u2014 \u20b94 lakh from the Disaster Management Fund and \u20b92 lakh from the Chief Minister\u2019s Relief Fund.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ministers to Visit the Bereaved Family<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To extend the government\u2019s condolences and support, Minister for Social Welfare &amp; Social Education Tinku Roy and Minister for Industry &amp; Commerce Santana Chakma will visit the residence of the deceased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chief Minister Dr. Saha reaffirmed the government\u2019s commitment to transparency and justice, stating, \u201cWe remain firmly committed to justice and to upholding the people\u2019s faith in our government.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The developments come amid widespread criticism of the state\u2019s disaster response mechanism, after it failed to act in time to save the driver despite his desperate pleas for help.
