New Delhi, August 1:<\/strong> In a crucial political move, top leaders of the Tipra Motha Party met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi to push for the implementation of the long-awaited Tiprasa Accord. The delegation was led by Royal scion Pradyot Kishore Bikram Manikya DebBarma, founder of Tipra Motha, along with Maharajkumari Kriti Singh Debbarma, Member of Parliament from Tripura East.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The delegation also included key leaders from both the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) Purna Chandra Jamatia, Chief Executive Member (CEM) of TTAADC; Brisheketu Debbarma, Minister of State and MLA; Philip Debbarma, MLA Ranjit Debbarma; and Debajit Tripura, MDC of TTAADC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the meeting, Bubagra Pradyot Manikya took to social media to share an optimistic update:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHad a very good meeting with Home Minister Shri Amit Shah and discussed the implementation of the Tiprasa Accord for the people of our state. He assured all of us that he will personally ensure that the Government of India\u2019s commitment is upheld towards the Tiprasa people.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The high-profile meeting comes amid growing calls from Tiprasa communities for concrete action on the promises outlined in the accord signed earlier this year. Prior to the meeting with the Home Minister, Tipra Motha leaders also met with the Chief Election Commissioner of India, raising concerns about the Scheduled Tribe Identity Recognition (SIR) process and voter list rectification in Tripura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nearly the entire Tipra Motha leadership has been stationed in Delhi for several days, participating in high-level discussions focused on Indigenous rights, autonomy, and development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, on the ground, momentum continues to build. Activist and Tipra Motha youth leader David Murasing has launched a 2,500 km long march from Tripura to Delhi, demanding immediate implementation of the Tiprasa Accord. The peaceful protest has garnered widespread support, with Pradyot Manikya backing the movement as a symbol of the Tiprasa people\u2019s enduring struggle for dignity, rights, and recognition.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
