Tripura, 31 July 2025: <\/strong>Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu has urged public representatives and citizens to come forward personally in the fight against tuberculosis (TB) and help build a TB-free Tripura. Stressing the importance of awareness, the Governor also encouraged the youth to join TB-Free Clubs being formed in various colleges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Governor made the remarks while launching the Raj Bhavan Web Portal, an e-book, and the \u2018Jan Jan Ka Rakhe Dhyan\u2019 campaign under the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan at a programme held this morning at the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan. The campaign has been organised under the state government\u2019s Rural Health Mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor praised the efforts of healthcare workers in Tripura, noting their significant success in combating TB. He highlighted that modern diagnostic centres have been set up in every district, and the state government has implemented several initiatives aimed at eliminating tuberculosis. These include TB-Mukt Panchayats, special award competitions, AI-based sputum testing, and targeted screening in tea garden and rubber plantation areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the event, the Governor interacted with Zilla Parishad chairpersons, Panchayat Samiti chairpersons, and BAC chairmen. He also ceremonially handed over food kits to family members of two TB patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was attended by Biswajit Shil, Acting Chairperson of West Tripura Zilla Parishad; Supriya Das Dutta, Chairperson of Sepahijala Zilla Parishad; Aparna Nath, Chairperson of North Tripura Zilla Parishad; Sushmita Das, Chairperson of Dhalai Zilla Parishad; Deepak Dutta, Chairperson of South Tripura Zilla Parishad; and Amolendu Das, Chairperson of Unakoti Zilla Parishad, among others. Also present were Raj Bhavan Secretary Uttam Kumar Chakma, National Health Mission Director Saju Wahid, and State TB Officer Dr. Nupur Debbarma, who delivered the welcome address.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
