Agartala, July 27:<\/strong> \u201cOnly through education and knowledge can we move from darkness to light,\u201d said Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha while addressing a felicitation ceremony for tribal students who passed the TBSE and CBSE board exams. The event, held at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan – Yesterday, was jointly organized by the All Tripura NGO Boarding Welfare Trust and the All Tripura NGO Boarding Development Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chief Minister highlighted the importance of acquiring knowledge to become a complete human being. He urged students to develop the mindset of contributing positively to society from their school days onward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He emphasized that the Prime Minister of India is implementing various schemes for the holistic development of the tribal population. In line with this, the state government is also working on numerous initiatives aimed at improving the socio-economic conditions of Tripura\u2019s tribal communities. Substantial financial support is being provided to boost education and preserve tribal culture, including annual allocations for the improvement of tribal hostels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the financial year 2024\u201325, \u20b923 lakh has been granted for tribal students\u2019 hostels. CM Saha also spoke about the central government\u2019s initiative \u2014 \u2018Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra: Dharati Aaba Tribal Village Upliftment Campaign\u2019 \u2014 under which several schemes are being implemented in tribal areas across the state. As part of this campaign, 20 new hostels are set to be constructed in tribal regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further, the Chief Minister noted that the state government is focusing on the development of infrastructure in sectors like education, drinking water, healthcare, fisheries, agriculture, and forestry in tribal areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking at the event, Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma stated that no community can develop without education. He added that the government is taking several steps to improve the quality of education for tribal students, including providing scholarships and implementing various welfare programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among other dignitaries present were Tapati Kalai, President of the All Tripura NGO Boarding Welfare Trust; Bimal Debbarma, Secretary; and prominent social worker Bipin Debbarma.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
