New Delhi, July 21:<\/strong> India\u2019s electronics exports witnessed a sharp rise of\u00a047 percent<\/strong>, reaching\u00a0USD 12.41 billion<\/strong>\u00a0in the first quarter of the current financial year (April\u2013June 2025), according to data released by the\u00a0Ministry of Commerce<\/a><\/strong>. The increase highlights India\u2019s accelerating role as a manufacturing hub for global markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The United States<\/strong>, United Arab Emirates (UAE)<\/strong>, and China<\/strong> emerged as the top three destinations for Indian electronic goods during the quarter. The Netherlands<\/strong> and Germany<\/strong> also featured among the major export markets, reflecting a broadening demand base across key global economies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officials say this performance signals India\u2019s deepening integration into the international electronics supply chain, positioning the country as a credible manufacturing alternative in Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The United States alone accounted for 60.17 percent<\/strong> of India\u2019s total electronics exports in the quarter, followed by the UAE at 8.09 percent<\/strong>, and China at 3.88 percent<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the ready-made garments<\/strong> sector also showed positive momentum. Exports of garments rose to USD 4.19 billion<\/strong>, compared to USD 3.85 billion<\/strong> in the same quarter last fiscal. The US led the pack with 34.11 percent<\/strong> of total apparel shipments, trailed by the United Kingdom (8.81%)<\/strong>, UAE (7.85%)<\/strong>, Germany (5.51%)<\/strong>, and Spain (5.29%)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trade analysts attribute the rise in exports to India\u2019s growing reputation for quality, compliance with international standards, and a strong domestic manufacturing base. The diversified product range and consistent policy support have also played a role in boosting global competitiveness, particularly in sectors like electronics and textiles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

India\u2019s export performance in these categories is expected to strengthen further as the government continues to push incentives under its production-linked incentive (PLI) schemes and ease of doing business reforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
