In a press conference held at the TIDC Conference Hall in Khajurbagan on Monday, TIDC Chairman Nabadel Banik revealed the corporation&#8217;s rising financial trajectory and its expanding role in industrial development across the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Banik informed the media that the corporation registered a net profit of \u20b94.02 crore in FY 2022\u201323, which increased to \u20b97.33 crore in 2023\u201324 and further to \u20b99.87 crore in the current fiscal year (2024\u201325). The profit target for FY 2025\u201326 has been set at \u20b913 crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Highlighting the government&#8217;s commitment to youth empowerment, Banik said that TIDC is actively working to support unemployed youth from rural, hilly, and urban areas by facilitating access to various central and state government schemes. Notably, initiatives like&nbsp;<em>Yuba Tripura<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>Natun Tripura<\/em>, and&nbsp;<em>Atmanirbhar Tripura<\/em>&nbsp;have gained popularity among the youth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He added that both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha are keen to see the youth of the state become self-reliant, as the foundation of a strong nation lies in its empowered youth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Industrial Revamp &amp; Incentives<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">TIDC has successfully revived four previously closed industrial units and taken steps to ease the financial burden on existing ones. The lease rent in Badharghat and AD Nagar industrial areas has been drastically reduced from \u20b95 per square foot to just 45 paise, benefitting nearly 60 industrial units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In terms of governance, a single-window system has been established to issue permits, licenses, and approvals through a unified online portal. For security, night patrolling has been intensified in industrial zones like Bodhjungnagar and RK Nagar, and round-the-clock power supply has been ensured in all industrial estates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The state government has empowered TIDC as a&nbsp;<em>Special Urban Planning and Development Authority<\/em>, granting it administrative control over designated industrial areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Expansion and Support for Entrepreneurs<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Currently, two rubber-based plywood units are operational in RK Nagar and Dewanpassa, with plans to establish seven more industrial units. TIDC is also facilitating collateral-free bank loans up to \u20b910 lakh for unemployed youth to help them start new ventures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During 2023\u201324 and 2024\u201325, a total of 67 industrial units have been allotted land or sheds. The Asian Development Bank has approved a loan of \u20b9740.33 crore (as of February 24, 2025) to support industrial development in Tripura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Loan recovery from various industrial units has also shown improvement. TIDC recovered \u20b972 lakh in FY 2022\u201323, \u20b988 lakh in 2023\u201324, and \u20b91.97 crore in 2024\u201325. For the upcoming fiscal, the target has been set at \u20b93 crore. Lease rent recovery has also improved, with \u20b95.20 crore collected in 2022\u201323, \u20b96.32 crore in 2023\u201324, and \u20b96.51 crore in 2024\u201325. The 2025\u201326 target stands at \u20b98 crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Skilled Workforce &amp; Infrastructure<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">TIDC Managing Director Dr. Shailesh Kumar Yadav shared that under the Chief Minister\u2019s Skill Development Scheme, over 10,000 individuals have received training to support the state&#8217;s growing industries. The corporation has requested 600 acres of land from the state government for upcoming industrial zones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Board of Directors Mihir Sarkar and Meghnath Saha also attended the press meet and discussed TIDC\u2019s long-term industrial policy focusing on promoting investment, reviving defunct units, improving rent recovery, and allocating land to new entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">TIDC currently manages land allotments in 13 existing industrial estates and is in the process of developing seven more. The Asian Development Bank has sanctioned \u20b9975.26 crore for developing industrial infrastructure in nine areas\u2014Bodhjungnagar, RK Nagar, Dukli, Nagicherra, Kumarghat, Dharmanagar, Dewanpassa, Dhuijangar, and Sarashima\u2014work for which is already underway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additionally, proposals have been sent to the Ministry of MSME, Government of India, for infrastructure development in four more locations\u2014Jalefa (Sabroom), Shantirbazar, Lalchhara (Ambassa), and Fatikroy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The state government has already transferred land for the new industrial zones at Shantirbazar (Rubber Park) and Fatikroy, and preliminary surveys for infrastructure work have commenced.
